A New Way to Rediscover Creativity, Nature & Adventure
I am happy to introduce our studio project for this year, Natural Explorer.
We all come into this world with a sense of adventure. As children, we explore freely—wandering, discovering, creating. But somewhere along the way, we often lose that natural instinct. Life becomes busy, routines take over, and we forget what it feels like to be truly present, curious, and engaged with the world around us.
At the same time, we’re living in an age of constant distraction. Companies spend millions of dollars trying to capture and hold our attention. Ironically, while it’s now clear that our attention is one of our most valuable assets, we give so little of it to ourselves. The more connected we’ve become through technology, the more disconnected we’ve become from who we are and the real, tangible world around us.
How can we reclaim our attention and find balance in our lives?

How Nature Can Help Our Creativity and Wellbeing
We all know that spending time in nature, practicing mindfulness, and engaging in creativity is good for us. Research has shown that:
- Nature reduces stress and boosts mental health. A study from the University of Exeter found that people who spend at least two hours a week in nature report significantly better well-being and health compared to those who don’t. (Source: Scientific Reports, 2019)
- Being outdoors enhances creativity and problem-solving. Research shows that walking in nature can increase creative output by up to 60%, as the mental relaxation and reduced sensory demands of natural settings allow the mind to wander and generate novel ideas. (Source: The Guardian, 2024)
- Mindfulness increases focus and emotional resilience. A Harvard study showed that mindfulness meditation can physically change the brain, increasing gray matter density in areas associated with learning, memory, and emotional regulation. (Source: Harvard Gazette, 2011)
Even dedicating just one day a week to these practices can make a meaningful difference. But knowing isn’t always enough—it can be hard to break free from routines and actually make time for these things. That’s why I wanted to create something simple, beautiful, and, most importantly—fun.

What is Natural Explorer and Who is it For?
Natural Explorer is an invitation to reconnect with nature, creativity, and a sense of adventure—starting exactly where you are. It’s a class, a practice, and a way of seeing the world differently. Through guided prompts, simple explorations, and creative exercises, it helps bring together the practices of mindfulness, creativity, and nature in a way that feels effortless and joyful.
I asked myself: What would make this fun? And I realized the answer has always been exploration. I’ve always loved discovering new places and learning new things. Exploration has been a central theme in my work, from leaving my career as a lawyer to becoming a full-time creative with my studio, Mimochai. And now, as a new mom, I find myself wanting to embrace it even more—because that’s the example I want to set for my son.
And the truth is, exploration doesn’t require far-off destinations or exotic trips. Being a true explorer is about being curious, learning to see, and opening up to the experience of life. That can happen anytime, anywhere, with what we already have. It’s a natural part of us, a natural way to be.

What’s Coming Next?
Alongside the Natural Explorer class, I’m also working on a collection of books, tools, and creative prompts to support this journey. Think of them as companions for your own explorations—beautifully designed items that encourage curiosity, mindfulness, and creativity. They’re in the works, and I can’t wait to share more soon.
Through Natural Explorer, I’ll be sharing my own discoveries—how I notice, reflect, and translate experiences into my creative practice. But this isn’t about me giving you all the answers or asking you to follow a set formula. It’s about creating space for you to explore in your own way, to follow your curiosity, and to discover a life of adventure—your own.
